Arianne (Arianne Baldesimo)

Having lived in Hong Kong for over 23 years, Arianne feels a strong love for this city and is determined to protect it from regressive and anti-diversity rhetoric. She believes the solution for greater racial integration can be achieved most effectively by educating and sensitizing people from a young age.

Arianne在香港居住逾二十三年,深深熱愛這個城市,亦因此決意保護它免受退步及反多元的聲音損害。她相信促進種族共融的最佳辦法,就是從小教育及感化人群。

Arista Devi

Arista arrived in Hong Kong in 2009 as a domestic worker in search of economic opportunities and a better future. Since then, she has worked in over six households, published numerous essays and books about the situation of domestic workers in the city, and helped other Indonesian domestic workers settle into Hong Kong.

為了尋求經濟機會,追求更美好的將來,Arista在2009年以家庭傭工的身份來港。自此,她先後在六個住戶工作, 就家庭傭工在香港的待遇出版過無數論文及書籍,並協助其他印尼家庭傭工在此安頓。

Darius (Dzadu Agbeko Kokou)

As a former law student in Togo, Darius has been concerned with issues of equality, and justice from an early age. Since arriving to Hong Kong five years ago, Darius has developed a deep connection with Hong Kong as it is his home and the place where his wife, friends, and future family belong. Having faced discrimination in Hong Kong on the basis of his skin colour and ethnicity, he has been actively involved in a number of activities aimed at promoting the values of equality and justice in this city.

Darius 是多加的前法律系學生,從小關心平權及公義。自五年前抵港後,Darius就與香港結緣。香港不僅是他的家園,也是他的妻子、朋友及家庭所在。因著膚色及種族所帶來的歧視,他積極參與各種活動,以推動平權及公義為己任。

David (pseudonym)

David came to Hong Kong seven years ago from Yemen as an asylum seeker with his wife and four children, having a high-level civil servant post with computer engineering background. However, he had to leave the country due to the high personal risk he and his family bore in a country devastated by war and political unrest.

七年前,David以尋求庇護者的身分,帶同妻子及四個孩子從也門抵港。他曾經是高級公務員,並擁有電腦工程的背景。然而,他因為戰爭及政治風波而暴露於危險之中,需要攜同家人離開國家。

Elisa (Elisa Chongbang)

Elisa is a proud Hong Kong Nepalese woman, whose grandfather came to the city in the 1960s as an officer in the British Army. Hong Kong is her “Karmabhoomi”, meaning a place whose growth she will aid in and contribute to making it a racially harmonious and inclusive city.

Elisa以香港尼泊爾女性的身份為榮。她的祖父是英國軍官,早於六十年代抵港。香港是她的 “Karmabhoomi”,意即一個她會努力建設、改變,使其達致種族和諧及多元的城市。

Fatima (Fatima Qureshi)

Born and brought up in Hong Kong, Fatima identifies as a person of Pakistani-Turkish ethnicity. Currently an English Studies student at The University of Hong Kong, Fatima wants to contribute to the integration of asylum seekers and refugees in Hong Kong by highlighting their stories, rights and needs.

Fatima於香港出生及成長,亦為巴基斯坦及土耳其裔人士。她現在香港大學就讀英文研究,希望帶出在港尋求庇護者及難民的故事、權利及需要,因而促進共融。

Hemyar (Hemyar Saad)

Hemyar arrived in Hong Kong three years ago due to rising unrest in his country in the Middle East. He hopes to work towards a future where the city he lives in and loves gives refugees and asylum seekers the freedom to gain employment and travel, and a life of freedom.

有鑑於中東的祖國政局動亂,Hemyar於三年前來到香港。他希望能夠為自己所居住及所愛的城市努力,並建設一個更接納難民及尋求庇護者的將來,使他們能擁有自由,得以獲聘、得以旅遊。

Jhic (Gina Dacio)

Jhic came to Hong Kong from the Philippines as a migrant domestic worker with the aim to help support her family as she was their sole breadwinner. Fifteen years later, she still believes that Hong Kong is one of the greatest cities in Asia, and that domestic workers are very much a strong part of the engine and heart that keep this city going. A proud member of the LGBTI+ community, Jhic also hopes to make Hong Kong a more accepting city for all individuals regardless of their gender identities or sexual preferences.

 

Jhic以家庭傭工的身份從菲律賓來港。作為家中的經濟支柱,她希望以這份工作養活家人。十五年後,她仍然相信香港是亞洲最偉大的城市之一,而家庭傭工為其不可或缺的一部份。Jhic為LGBTI+群體勇敢的一員。她希望能令香港成為一個更包容的城市,不論人們的性別身分或取向,都能夠接受。

Lamia (Lamia Sreya Rahman)

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Lamia is currently an undergraduate student at The University of Hong Kong pursuing a double major in American Studies and Criminology. Having grown up as an ethnic minority here of Bangladeshi roots, Lamia has experienced the diverse yet exclusionary duality of Hong Kong and wishes to work towards greater social integration of these communities.

Lamia於香港出生,於香港成長,現時在香港大學主修美國研究及犯罪學。作為在港的少數族群,且為孟加拉裔,Lamia體會到這個城市多元又封閉的奇異特質,並希望能夠促進所屬群體的社會共融。

Lois (Ayooluwa Lois Orekoya)

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Social Science and an Associate degree in Social Sciences, Lois calls herself an International Nigerian due to the love she feels for her country of birth and her story of having grown up outside of it her entire life. After living in Singapore, Chengdu (China), and Suriname (South America), Lois finally moved to Hong Kong five years ago and is grateful for all the knowledge and love she continues to find in this city.

Lois現時是應用社會科學的準學士,也是社會科學的副學士。她認為自己是國際尼日尼亞人。她熱愛祖國,同時又在他鄉成長。在新加坡、成都 (中國) 及蘇利南 (南美) 居住過後,Lois終於在五年前來到香港,並她為在此發掘到的知識及熱情而感恩。

Sabrina (Wing Ki Leung)

Currently a Law and Politics undergraduate student at The University of Hong Kong, Sabrina was born and brought up in the city. She wants to create a Hong Kong where everyone feels like they belong here, just like she does.

Sabrina於香港土生土長,現時於香港大學就讀政治及法律。她希望能創建一個人人待人如己般的香港。

Syed (Syed M. Agha)

Syed arrived in Hong Kong from India for the first time 14 years ago as a tourist, and decided to stay and build a life here as a migrant worker. He sees Hong Kong as his home and is determined to make it equal and fair in its treatment of all those who call it so, for all ethnicities and people and to make a caring society for everyone, which empowers the weak, the disabled, the elderly and the marginalised sections of the society, for those who need support but do not seek it.

Syed在14年前以遊客的身份從印度來港,及後決定以移工的身份在此建立人生。他視香港為家,並決意要令所有同樣歸屬的人,不論種族,不論背景,都得到公平對待。他亦希望創造一個更關愛的社會,為弱小、殘疾人士、長者及邊緣群體充權,為需要而又未主動尋求支援的人提供協助。

Vincy (Wan Hei Vincy Chan)

(Vincy is a non-binary trans person, and uses the “they/them” pronouns)

Born in Hong Kong, Vincy attended Macalester College - a liberal arts college in the United States - where they engaged in social justice conversations while also experiencing what it means to be a minority, having primarily been educated in majority-Chinese EMI schools in Hong Kong. Leveraging their privilege as an East Asian in Hong Kong, Vincy wishes to continue these conversations about race, marginalised genders and sexualities, and the intersection therein to Hong Kong

Vincy 的身份認同 為非二元跨性別人士,並 選擇 使用「他」作為代詞。

生於香港,Vincy在美國博雅教育學院Macalester College就讀時展開對社會正義的討論,並體會到作為小眾的感想。這尤其是他主要在英文中學接受教育,且大部分老師、同學均為華人。Vincy希望能夠善用自己作為東亞人的身份,在香港與他人進行更多有關種族、性/別小眾等的對話。
