PROGRAM OFFICER (FULL-TIME)
Purpose of the role and Responsibilities
As we embark on a new phase of our growth outlined in our 2018-2020 Strategic Plan, we are seeking a Program Officer to support Resolve’s programs management with a specific focus on the execution of the programmatic activities and the coordination of our constituents. Working under the supervision of Head of Programs, you will be contributing to organizing our signature fellowship program, supporting our alumni to effect positive change in the social justice and inclusion field and building the Resolve community. We are looking for someone who is a people-person, passionate about human rights education, has a creative mind and an innovative mindset and the organizational skills to make things happen. This role is perfect for someone who is a teamplayer, looking to take on a new challenge, to be part of a group of passionate and purpose-driven colleagues and who is looking to contribute to a new organization working to better Hong Kong society through community empowerment.
Scope of duties
Programs Management Support
To engage in the planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation of Resolve’s Social Justice Fellowship Program and Alumni Engagement Program, with a focus on the implementation and logistical arrangement of programmatic activities and programs-related events.
To support Resolve’s communication on programs by drafting and publishing key documents including but not limited to fellows’ biographies and mentoring pairing announcement and to participate in the programs’ media work.
To regularly provide input on Resolve’s monitoring and evaluation systems, included but not limited to fellows and alumni progress and work, and advise Head of Programs on progress and/or adjustments as appropriate.
To nurture and foster a collaborative and positive environment for the fellows and alumni as Resolve’s key liaison, supporting them to achieve their own goals within the scope of Resolve's vision, mission and priorities.
To keep abreast with the relevant policy developments in Hong Kong/deliberations in the public eye, assisting in scouting opportunities for fellows and alumni and communicating with them about opportunities for engagement.
To conduct best practices research and literature reviews on community empowerment and human rights education to provide Resolve’s team with recommendations to perfect programs and innovate action.
To assist in scouting out collaboration opportunities with external stakeholders, including but not limited to NGO partners, recording relevant partnership experiences, and liaising with partners to ensure long-lasting relationship.
Organization Management Support
To participate in Resolve’s team growth by leading the recruitment of interns and volunteers and managing some of their assignments.
To support and participate in organization wide activities such as team meeting, internal social activities and staff-wide functions and events.
To attend and represent Resolve at events and functions, where appropriate and needed.
To assist in securing in-kind sponsorship and writing grant applications to ensure sustainable
implementation of programs’ various components.
In collaboration with other members of the team, to support the development of programmatic
budgets, input costs and monitor expenditures.
Other duties as required.
A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as human rights, government and politics, public policy, social work or other equivalent discipline.
A minimum of 2-3 years experience in the human rights, social justice and inclusion as well as awareness of how those issues play out in Hong Kong.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Bilingual fluency in Chinese (Cantonese) and English.
Exceptional digital fluency, including Microsoft Office, Google-based platforms.
Must have right to work in Hong Kong.
Some previous NGO experience is a plus.
